I have another breakfast place to share with you all! Isn’t breakfast food awesome? Just along Sikatuna’s famed Maginhawa Street you will find this little nook you’ll want to start your day with. Breakfast Bin is fairly easy to find but it can only accommodate 12-15 people at a time. Yes, it’s that cozy. The interiors are unpretentious and this wonder serves straightforward breakfast dishes at affordable prices.

Not your ordinary carinderia – Kanto Freestyle Breakfast

My love affair with breakfast food continues! After our bike trip in Ortigas, we planned to look for Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. I read a lot of good reviews about the spot and would see a lot of glorious food photos but not much of the place. I know as much as this - it’s open air, but that’s it. I had one question that was never answered by the links I visited: is it really a carinderia?

The Food of Misibis Bay

Perhaps the best thing about the food at the island resort is the breakfast buffet spread included in your room. They do have lunch and dinner buffets but I never eat the appropriate amount of food for the price so for those meals, I opted to order from the menu.

SOP disclaimer, if you’re going to a luxe resort expect prices of food to be of the same standard. Got it? If you have that imbedded in your brain, prices of the food on the island are proportional to the serving size and quality of the food. The prices are ok for resort standards, not that pricey actually.

Milky & Sunny and Cab at Kapitolyo

I remember eating at Wild Honey Singapore wishing there would be a breakfast place in Manila that was near my hood. Lo and behold a month after, Milky & Sunny opened its doors in Kapitolyo. Both restaurants boost of having a menu that consists of breakfast items but the similarities end there.

Everyday Breakfast at Wild Honey Singapore

I’m hardly awake to enjoy breakfast but I just looooove breakfast food. Wild Honey was highly recommended by another cousin, Cara, who was in Singapore the summer prior to my trip. Hearing the accolade Car gave Wild Honey, I added it to my list of can’t-leave-Singapore-without-doing-this.

Wild Honey serves breakfast food for the whole day. Their menu consists of the usual breakfast treats like pastries and coffee. What sets this restaurant apart from others is its selection of breakfast dishes from all over the world. Wanna know how breakfast tastes like in Tunisia? What about Mexico? Your palette gets a quick tour around the world when dining here.

Eating my way through Pratunam, Bangkok

This is my third post about the trip and I forgot to give my full disclosure! I really went on vacation on this trip. Read: I didn’t think as a blogger. I’m not making excuses, I’m stating my choice. I had an enriching trip and I loved being free from the pressure of writing about it. 

So a lot of photos from this Bangkok 2012 series come from the kindness of Manang and Nix. Blogging aside, I’m severely glad they took photos to document our trip and the memories!  Awesome sauce. So back to this post!
 

Besides shopping, I really wanted to attack the street food that Bangkok is notorious for. On my first trip, I wasn’t able to dive into this facet of the city so I swore to experience as much as I could on this trip.

Brunching at Early Bird Breakfast Club

One food trend I embrace is the emergence of breakfast places. My favorite meal is hogging the spotlight and I love it! I hit another breakfast restaurant as I explored the Early Bird Breakfast Club.
 

Stepping into the warm ambiance of the place gives a solid and good first impression. It matches the restaurant completely because for me, breakfast should be a warm and wonderful start to your day.

Bellarocca Part 4: The Food

There are 3 areas where you can dine at the resort: (1) at the Pavillion Restaurant – which is near the Seaside Swimming Pool, (2) at the Main Restaurant – at the hotel and (3) in your room/terrazzo/villa. We are able to eat at all.

Unconsciously, we had thematic meals during our stay. On our first day, we had Italian for lunch. We each picked our own dishes not knowing the proportions of their dishes. When we saw their portions, it was unanimous – we would be sharing dishes in our next meal.

Siquijor Coffee and Eats

The one thing that surprised me about the island was how pricey the food was. I thought it was only the touristy restaurants that had Manila prices but I was wrong. Majority of eateries in Siquijor are priced like that, even the local eateries. My trike driver/tour guide confirmed this. Expect to spend P250-350 per meal.

My Week with Diet Diva

Since late last year, I've been trying to eat better. In my world that means adding vegetables to my diet. After the waist expanding holidays, I knew I needed to go back to my goal. Eating better would mean preparing my meals, which is not my forte. I was thinking of buying groceries and looking for healthier recipes. It felt like a daunting task then I came across Diet Diva.
 

There are several diet delivery services out there for different needs. Cohen, no carbs, specific caloric intake a day – these are some of the programs I saw online. For Diet Diva, they have a 1200 calories/day program for 5 days. Each day consists of 3 meals and 2 snacks for P1900 (plus delivery fee).
 

What sealed the deal for me was the price. For P127/meal, it was affordable. You'd usually spend an average of P120-150 if you buy in a fastfood joint anyway. The price is not bad and you enjoy healthy food. Getting Diet Diva would also give me an idea of recipes I could try in the future.

Poundage in Baguio

Besides work I’ve been eating. I was invited to a friend’s wedding thus the exodus to Baguio which was a welcome change to the scorching heat of Manila. It’s been my DREAM to try the deluxe bus of Victory Liner going to Baguio and I did!

Baguio Country Club brings back old memories. This familiar place still had a couple of food surprises that made my tummy happy.

My First Time to Fly with Etihad

I am a budget traveler and it’s no secret. The 2013 birthday trip was my biggest one to date in all aspects. This was the farthest I’ve ever been and the longest flight I took. It was also my first time to fly with Etihad Airways and this experience has spoiled me – oh no!

For any flight, I cannot stress this enough, do web check in. Like my Bangkok shopping trip, the web check in line was non-existent compared to the normal check in counter when I arrived in NAIA 1.

Terrific taste and aesthetics at 14 Four Café

Here I go again with my penchant for design and food. When I read about 14 Four Café in Metro Home, it instantaneously landed in my must-see places. The café is actually located inside a furniture showroom – Sticks Designs. 14 Four Café is helmed by the daughter of Sticks Design, Niki Sambile.

After 5 trips to San Jose Mindoro for work, I can now share a few things for people thinking of visiting this town. San Jose isn’t exactly known for tourism but it has a fighting chance. There are several islands that you can visit from the town. San Jose also serves as a gateway for people traveling to Sablayan, which is 2 hours away, to visit Pandan Island and Apo Reef.

(Over Due Post!) Singapore Part 1: Cheap Thrills

I’ve been itching and itching to blog. I finally found the time and made time for it. I hope that it will be helpful and you’ll take my word for it! Haha


I make it a point to CELEBRATE my birthday every year. Last year was one of the best celebrations EVER. It was my first time to have my birthday in another country with so many things planned! I was also crossing out something on my bucket list. (more on that in a later post!) This birthday also meant spending time with my sister and my SG-based cousin whom I haven’t had quality time in ages.

I’m starting the series with FOOD! How can I possibly go wrong with food? I honestly wasn’t expecting much since I’m not ecstatic about Singaporean food. Here are a couple of my cheap food finds in lovely Singapuh!
