The last time I blogged about the light show was in 2013 but I’ve been showing up! It has been an unspoken tradition to visit it yearly with my cousins. I may have missed a year or two but I have more checks than absences! 2018 saw the Disney takeover for the 10 anniversary.

If you’re a staunch critic and basher of the industry, this entry is for you.
I worked in TV and video production in my former life – that’s my background. When people talk about the “industry” (film and TV), I get protective because it is close to my heart. It was an industry I threw myself into for the longest time. It is not perfect and it may not be for everyone but I do get protective. The quality of work that the industry produces has some hits and misses. A lot of people have crap to say about it.

Are you guys still here? I won't make promises but I am trying to be a better blogger. Let's start with something that's close to my heart - art!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know what I’m talking about. The last week of May saw the BGC area light up with creative energy thanks to the ONE Festival – a week-long festival celebrating murals and street art through the works of 8 brilliant artists from the Philippines and other parts of the world.
It’s refreshing to see this form of art being accepted in the streets of our country. Others may think these murals as graffiti but they are not. I hope more walls be adorned with gorgeous murals.
Want to see the 8 murals?

Wow, 37 years in the business. Isn’t that amazing? This restaurant is pivotal in how my family and I grew up and lived all these years.

After devouring our plate of good vibes and food at Eat Café, we were ready to head to the main event – Intramuros Pasyal! When we made our approach to Intramuros it started raining hard.
We parked near the Manila Cathedral while waiting for the rain to stop. The historic church recently finished its renovation so it’s a good time to visit. My group was all inappropriately dressed for Church so we didn’t go in. When the sun decided to say hi again, we got this amazing shot of the Cathedral.

I have a lot of back log. Writing about this completely will take time so here’s a heads up. It’s International Heritage Month and because of that my cousin Paola and I went museum hopping. The best news? They were for free!

Who doesn't love Mr. Pure Energy Gary V?!?!? I may not be his biggest fan or well versed in his discography but I admire and his respect him as an artist and more importantly, as a person. The night the concert, Paola invited me to join her and Hanna for the concert the next day. I had financial concerns but something great happened that day work wise and I grabbed the opportunity,
We put on our dancing shoes, readied our vocal cords and headed to the Araneta!

I saw the Lights Show in 2012 so this 2013 was my second time to watch the spectacle. This year, there are three sets of shows on rotation – 1 in Filipino and 2 in English.
Initially I didn’t feel a big difference from last year. However, after watching more you will see the difference. The light design this year was noticeably different from last years. I love that the technique and patterns used were brilliantly different.
There was less awe compared to seeing it for the first time but the whole show still brought happiness in my world.
I will let the photos and videos speak for themselves.

I haven’t been posting about concerts happening in the country on the blog the past few months. Are you surprised I’m talking about one now? This is my November Photo Walk for 2013.
As I mentioned previously, there are 3 bands that have made me cry: Urbandub, The Script and One Republic. Since Urbandub is a Filipino band, I’ve been fortunate enough to watch them on several occasions - you must catch them live. The Script visited Manila twice already and I honestly regret not watching them. On their first visit, I chose Cirque du Soleil over them. On their second visit, I waited for my friends to buy tickets. They eventually ended up bailing on me and when I was all set to watch alone – it was sold out. It is because of my painful (oo drama) experience with The Script that I vowed to watch One Republic live.
