Brunching at Early Bird Breakfast Club

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

One food trend I embrace is the emergence of breakfast places. My favorite meal is hogging the spotlight and I love it! I hit another breakfast restaurant as I explored the Early Bird Breakfast Club.

Stepping into the warm ambiance of the place gives a solid and good first impression. It matches the restaurant completely because for me, breakfast should be a warm and wonderful start to your day.

The good times keep coming as the restaurant presented me with a good problem – there were too many things I wanted to try on the menu. It was challenging to narrow it down. Did I want rice? Did I want it sweet or savory? Should I go American today?

Ginger Peach Lemonade (P125)
I’ve mentioned this in the blog several times that I don’t like ginger. The only time I like a dish or drink with ginger is when the taste isn’t evident. This is one of those times.

Lemon Mint Ice Tea (P125)
They used fresh lemonade for this tall glass of loveliness which upped is delish factor. This iced tea is a refreshing punch to start your meal.

The Early Breakfast Full English (P495)
1 English Banger, 2 strips of bacon, mushrooms, ripe grilled tomatoes, 2 fried eggs, our Early Bird has potatoes, baked beans and a choice of either 2 pieces of friend bread or 2 pieces of toast.
This plate had so many elements, it looked overwhelming at first. When you dissect the dish and taste every piece, it gets boring. It tasted like normal pieces you could have anywhere or even at home and for P495, we expected more.

Sunny Salpicao (P315)
Garlic marinated chicken cutlets served with breakfast rice.
I eventually decided I needed carbs and protein and the salpicao has always been my favorite. It’s been awhile since this was a healthier version; this was the dish for me. Initially, I thought the portion was a bit small but when I eventually cleaned my plate, I was full and happy. I just wish they used a bigger skillet because my rice would fall off from time to time.

Despite the disappointing experience with the Full English, my Early Bird Breakfast Club experience was fantastic. The triumvirate of impressive food, cozy interiors and strong branding made me a massive fan of the restaurant.
