Breathtaking Amoudi Bay in Santorini

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

I could have included Amoudi Bay in my Oia photo blog but it truly deserves its own post. I was mesmerized with how beautiful this little bay is. I couldn’t believe how brilliant the water sparkled under the sun and how gorgeous the different shades of blue it emitted.

You can access Amoudi Bay via car, donkey or walking. As I mentioned previously, we stayed away from donkey rides. The walk down is quite a challenge because of the height and the piercing sun. We opted to rent a car that day anyway so accessing it via car was definitely easier.

True movie fans will recognize this as the port used in 2 movies: Mamma Mia and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I saw Amoudi Bay in photos and in both movies; this is definitely an example of when expectations meet reality. It looked as magnificent in photographs as it did in person.
