Weekend Must Try: Greenfield Weekend Market
Tuesday, May 31, 2016
I find myself in the Greenfield area often these days because of wall climbing. If you feel like doing something else this weekend, make time to visit Greenfield on a Saturday for their Weekend Market.
The Greenfield Weekend Market happens every Saturday from 4 PM to 12 MN. These photos were taken awhile back so some of the concessioners may have changed already. What can you expect?
FOOD (!)
Main reason why I visited was because of the food. I like that the food stalls here are not priced exorbitantly expensive and pretentious. Some booths may not be artisanal or chichi but they do serve delicious dishes at reasonable prices. You need to sift through the numerous stalls to find something that speaks to you. You can also shop for fresh produce here.
A display of art
I love that art is becoming more accessible to everyone. I am far from being an art expert but I do have an appreciation for it. Meet local artists and galleries at the Weekend Market and perhaps purchase your first piece of art. Hooray to supporting Filipino artists.
Shopping
There are a lot of small businesses that have booths here. They will tempt you with their items. We saw Happy Bubbles when we went to the Intramuros Pasyal event before. Paola and her friends finally bought bubbles from them. Kids and adults had fun with the bubbles.
A venue to unwind
The ambiance here is very relaxing. Even with the summer heat, the open space and environment is perfect for chilling. Different musicians provide entertainment as well. It’s a good outing for everyone because it’s family and barkada friendly. Bring a mat and have a picnic with your group.
I am always a fan of good weekend markets and Greenfield’s is definitely one that I will go back to. What are your other go-to weekend markets? Share them with me.
