ANG KALADKARIN: Personal

Here's why I'm never ordering from Healthy Monsters PH

I've tried their salads and got the 72-hour cleanse twice. I've even blogged about it before. An incident happened last year that caused me to break up with the brand.

Events

Since I returned to blogging this 2016 – a lot of happy surprises have happened. Last month, I received another one. Ang Kaladkarin was nominated at the BlogEx Manila Awards 2016 for the “Best Blogger for Travel” category! I am part of a group that loves to wander and it is pretty cool.

The scaredy-cat goes skydiving in Auckland

Activity

You see that woman jumping out of the plane? That's partially-afraid-of-heights me so that's why this is a big deal. I've taken on my fear of heights again.

Are you still here? I'm back!

Personal

I started blogging less when I became a producer for Yahoo Philippines (rest in peace) in 2014. I completely stopped blogging in May 2015.

I lost the fire I had when I started this blog 7 years ago. Taking note of everything and thinking about being on "blogger mode" took a toll on me. I wasn't enjoying my trips and adventures as much because of the need to document and write. I love taking photos more than writing and my brain and heart just refused to write for the blog.

My 5 seconds with Pope Francis in Manila

Personal

I missed the Pope when I visited the Vatican. I went on a weekday and he wasn’t there. I had every intention of attending his mass but got lost with a couple of friends and didn’t make it in time. When I found out he was visiting Manila, I was ecstatic. Yes, I am one of the millions who like his style and charmed by him. I knew I needed to seem during his visit.

The thing about working for a media company, it is common for you to have work during holidays and special occasions. This was not an exception. I was part of the lean Yahoo Philippines Team covering his visit. Our team wrote original stories, curated photos and videos for people to consume and did so much more. I was updated with his every move, touched by a lot of his speeches and encounters but I didn’t see him in person.

Hue Love Prints

Last Monday (July 21), I found out a seller on IG was passing off my designs and photo as her own. Randomgirlystuffs profile was public and I saw it.

It's been an awfully quiet June on the blog

Personal

Why hello there! Are you still with me? I hope you are! I know I've been a bad blogger, I have tremendous backlog and I'm not yet finished with my epic birthday trip posts. It’s been 9 months and I'm just at the halfway point. I'm sorry! Besides that trip I still have Baguio, El Nido and Manila stories to write. My blog is looking like a food blog because since February, I haven’t been out much.

I don’t have a photo walk for June yet!!

I will be brutally honest. I've been having bouts of doubt. Blogging felt like work for the past few months. It's been hard for me to get my writing mojo back. Then this June, I got back in the "regular-work-as-in-being-office-based" fold. That's a big deal y'all! I haven’t been in that environment since 2006. My work for the past 8 years have been freelance or regular work but not office based so this a major life change for me.

When Epic Dreams Come True - 2013 Birthday Trip

Personal

* This article was written in September.

Traveling for my birthday is my tradition. Before I start writing about the trip, I need a moment to share. Santorini has been my ultimate DREAM destination when I was younger. I didn’t speak much about it because I didn't want to say it out loud. I didn’t want people to know about it because I didn't want to have this thing hanging over my head - something I never did.

Blog Leave for a month

Personal

I am grateful for you guys. I actually have readers who aren’t my family or friends. Haha I’ll be gone starting tomorrow until mid October for my biggest trip to date – my DREAM trip. I will have a few scheduled posts and some wonderful guest bloggers in my absence.

Instagram Snaps – July 2013

Personal

In my last Molome post, I mentioned some changes. Here it is – I’ve left Molome for Instagram. I’m sorry Molome, IG really had my heart from the very start but they didn’t have it in my phone. Now, I have access to it and my cousins are beyond ecstatic. I started using IG in the middle of July so pardon my anemic first week.
