Iloilo Travel Guide Day 5 – Atria and Festive Walk
Wednesday, September 11, 2024This was our flight back in Manila and we still wanted to maximize our time but on a relaxed pace. We opted for Atria and Festive Walk which were just near our hotel.
I was doing intermittent fasting so my friend was the one who had breakfast here. Told ya we really loved the place. We attended the 9 AM mass after breakfast.
Atria for lunch at Netong’s and Neighbor Coffee
While exploring La Paz Market, we discovered that Netong’s has an Atria branch. Perfect, since I wanted to try Neighbor Coffee too. Atria’s walkable from Seda Hotel, but it felt a bit isolated with no public transport options.
Can’t leave Iloilo without trying the legendary La Paz Batchoy, right? The Netong’s branch here was chill with a stronger AC, but the La Paz Batchoy was a bit too salty for me—even with the puto to balance it out. This was surprising because a cousin who went after my tried Netong’s and Deco’s and found Deco’s version saltier.
The main reason for the visit – Neighbor Coffee. I enjoyed this specialty coffee shop so much; I dedicated a solo post for it here.
IloMoCa Museum
This was our first contemporary museum on the trip and I was excited!
The excitement quickly turned into disappointment when we found out the entire second floor was closed. The museum only has 3 floors and 1/3 was unavailable yet the ticket prices stayed the same.
I’m a museum geek, so spending just 1-1.5 hours felt pretty bitin. The limited pieces on display definitely played a part.
We went around Festival Mall to kill time but didn’t really get to do much. The vibe at SM Iloilo was definitely better.
Fundador Museum
Not usually a brandy person, but needed something to pass the time. The museum is well designed and thoughtfully laid out.
Coffee Brandy over ice
We Beat the heat with this drink: coffee brandy mixed with simple syrup. It had a sago’t gulaman vibe without the sago and gulaman—super refreshing! Definitely making me consider buying a bottle.
Wrapped up our tour with a stop back at Theo’s for some delicious bread and pastries for our airport dinner. As always, they were amazing. Iloilo gave us the perfect send-off with this stunning view.
This ends the official Iloilo itinerary! I hope I convinced you to visit this dynamic city. It truly has a lot to offer. I have one last post featuring pasalubong items so watch out for that.
