Theo’s Restaurant + Bakery in Iloilo City is a must-try

Monday, August 12, 2024

Sure, you can get café food at home, but Theo’s Restaurant + Bakery is a must-visit. We were so obsessed, we hit it up three times during our five-day trip: for an epic dinner, a solo breakfast (my friend indulged while I was intermittent fasting), and a third time to take out breads and pastries to eat at the airport for dinner.  It’s café food done right.

Shakshuka Breakfast (P375)
Tomatoes, Mediterranean Spices, Eggs, Baguette
I wanted a light dish to enjoy with my cocktail, and the Shakshuka seemed perfect. The flavors were spot-on, though it was a bit runny for my liking. It comes with baguette slices but the team also gave us Sourdough -- it was a much better match.

Hickory Bacon Smokezza (P410)
A Theo's Original. Made with smoked chicken and bacon. Goeey three cheese blend and barbecue sauce.
This original pizza was a total win.  The mix of toppings created a flavor-packed experience with each bite. Even with all that goodness, the crust stayed delightfully light and crispy.

Tiramisu (P320)
Vodka, Hazelnut, Espresso, Irish Cream, Kahlua, Milk, Cream, Chocolate.
Think of it as your favorite dessert, now with a boozy kick. The Tiramisu cocktail has just the right amount of alcohol to get you pleasantly buzzed while enjoying a creamy treat.

Breads (starts at P145)
Where do I begin? The hardest part was making a decision. The bread and pastries selection were superb. Get the Italian Job!

Pastries (starts at P90)
So many delicious options and only so much room in my belly! The Espresso Cronut and Glazed Choco Mud I sampled were absolute winners.

It honestly has everything – breakfast, coffee, lunch, dinner, dessert, and even drinks.  It’s beautifully decorated without feeling intimidated. They have an extensive menu and I honestly want to come back and try SO. MUCH. MORE.
