8 Rooftop Bars and Restaurants in Metro Manila to try

Monday, June 10, 2024

What can I say, I’ve been obsessing about rooftop restaurants and bars since 2008 – I’m your rooftop girlie. Check out these picks in Metro Manila.

Mistral Rooftop Bar at Raffles
Pro: Expect 5-star service, food and ambiance since this is at the Raffles Hotel. We loved the cocktails and food we ordered. Must try their Froze which is like a Slurpee for adults.
Con: 5-star prices as well.  Since the bar is on the 10th floor you won’t get great elevation or the best view.
Best For: Girls night out, taking out balikbayans, a celebration cos you deserve it.
📍 1 Raffles Drive, Makati Avenue, Makati City

Pro:  Located on the 32nd floor, Firefly offers a great sunset view. You can enjoy the Makati Skyline on one side and the Pasig River and lower Makati.
Con: Drinks and ambiance are on the okay-only side.
Best For: Families, kids are welcome here. Guests of the hotel have access to the pool.
📍 32nd Floor City Garden Grand Hotel, Makati Avenue cor. Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City

Pro: Gives you a panoramic view of BGC and is my favorite in the Pasig/Mandaluyong area. Honestly, would go here for the view and prolly go for dinner somewhere close.
Con: It’s fairly small and doesn’t have much ambiance.
Best For: Bar or resto hopping in the area
📍 706 Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas, Pasig City

Sky High Bar at Ace Hotel & Suites
Pro: Larger than Privato with an upbeat energy.
Con: Average food and drinks
Best For: After office drinks if you work in the area and want to try something new
📍 United cor. Brixton Streets, Pasig City

Pro: Located at the 43rd floor giving you a fantastic sunset cityscape with a patch of greenery. Vibes here are pretty chill even if it is in a hotel.  You are able to have actual lengthy conversations with people here.
Con:  5-star price tag
Best For: Catching up with friends or family or celebrating a special occasion.
📍 17 ADB Ave, Ortigas Center (Topaz Road Entrance), Pasig City

The Bayleaf Intramuros
Pro: You get to see another side of Intramuros from up above. Also enjoy good grub and drinks.
Con: It’s not exactly the iconic Manila sunset but it’s pretty nice too.
Best For: Night cap after a day of seeing Manila – whether as a local or with tourists.
📍 Muralla corner Victoria Streets, Intramuros, Manila City

Pro: Witness the iconic Manila Bay sunset – honestly still one of the best in the Metro.  That view is still worth a visit.
Con:  I don’t remember how much we were charged per person (under P1000) and it was consumable. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were not up to par to the view.
Best For: One time visit to get a glimpse of the gorgeous Manila Bay sunset.
📍 Seaside Boulevard cor. JW Diokno Boulevard, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City

Straight Up at Seda Vertis North
Pro: Easily accessible. Modern design with a relaxed vibe.
Con: I saw sunset photos when I was researching but was unlucky to see it even with good weather on my visit.
Best For: Northies that want to unwind and not go too far
📍 Astra, cor. Lux Drives, Quezon City
