A New BGC Favorite: Crisp on 28th

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Restaurants keep opening every minute in BGC but Crisp on 28th easily became one of my favorites. The restaurant had a great mix of items on their menu that it can get overwhelming to order. The beauty of it though, you have a lot of things to go back for.

Tinapa and Quinoa Salad (P220 Half/P410 Full)
Flaked tinapa, kalamansi and honey ginger dressing, cherry tomato, red onions, mango strips, coriander, spring onions, grated salted egg, prawn and tinapa rosti
That’s a salad with so many ingredients! The Tinapa and Quinoa Salad had an interesting play of flavours making it memorable. It’s something I would love to replicate at home.

Falafel Salad Bites (P240)
Crispy falafel and chickpeas, Hawaiian bun, white bean hummus, curried egg mayo, mixed greens
I am a fan of falafels and this dish doesn’t disappoint when it comes to flavour. It reminded me of a shawarma but happier. The size though was small for me and left me craving for more. It seemed like the fries served were more than the buns.

Hazelnut Macchiato (P120)

Daily Special (P155)
Varies, ask the barista for availability

Banana and Squash Cake (P150)
If you like the frosting of the usual carrot cake, you’ll like this because it tasted similar to that. It had the perfect mix of banana and squash without one over powering the other.

I’ve only been to Crisp on 28th during the day and I utterly adore how the sun fills in the space.  It has become my go-to place because of several things going for it – inviting interiors, chill ambiance and of course, fantastic food. I like this even better than its sister, Hatch 22. I also happen to really love the plates and bowls that they use!
