Kanto Freestyle Breakfast opens in Kapitolyo
Thursday, January 09, 2014
My favorite gourmet carinderia has grown since my last visit. From its original branch in Mandaluyong, Kanto now has branches in Libis, Marikina and nearby Kapitolyo!
Before visiting the Ayala Triangle Gardens Light Show with Paola and Trish, we excitedly and hungrily went to the branch in Kapitolyo. This corner is much bigger and pleasant than the Mandaluyong post. I am happy to report that the service and food have stayed the same – excellent.
I only have great things to say about Kanto. During our visit, there were 4 full tables and only one waiter. He handled everything well and was always cheerful and smiling when he interacted with us. There may not be ambiance but its success can be attributed to one simple thing – remarkable food. Now that you’re nearer, I predict frequent trips to you in the future.

Iced Coffee (P35)
This glass of cold coffee is an upgrade from my last visit.

Batangas Beef Tapa (P90)
Love for Beef Tapa is not only common with my friends but also my family. Different branch but Kanto’s Tapa still tasted fantastic. I will continue to go back for this.

Vigan Longganisa (P90)
Kanto’s version didn’t taste like Vigan longganisa but as a longganisa dish, I loved it.

Goya and Chocnut Ganache Pancake (P90)
Our dessert was more expensive than our main dish. Was it worth it? Hell to the yes. Put together luscious chocolate with childhood favorite chocnut, and ice cream and you have yourself a master class in pure evil – sweet sugary evil. This 3 layer pancake is feverishly delicious.
