Another great hangout place at The Clubhouse Robinson’s Magnolia

The Clubhouse is a restaurant conceptualized by a group of friends as a place where they could hang out. On a Tuesday lunch, the restaurant only had a few guests which made it the perfect place to catch up and date my fellow FreakErika

Once I stepped inside, the restaurant felt like a warm hug. The homey interiors and design gave a relaxed atmosphere giving us girls the perfect ambiance for the lunch date.

Chicken and Grape Salad (P245)
Our house specialty – creamy chicken and grape salad served on farm fresh salad greens topped with alfalfa sprouts and almond slivers.
I don’t like mayo based sandwich spreads except for my Mom’s tuna and egg spreads. Anything else, I stay away. When I read creamy chicken, I didn’t expect it to be chicken spread chunks in the salad. Thankfully, the mayo wasn’t overpowering and I could chomp on the salad in small increments.

Mexican Hangover (P245)
A meaty scramble of chorizo, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese.
No, I wasn’t hung over. I wanted to pick a breakfast dish and this egg dish sounded rather interesting. I liked the mix of sweet and salty elements in this hangover. There were a few chorizo pieces that were tough but it’s a minor problem. The Mexican Hangover is something you can do at home. What I love about The Clubhouse’s egg dishes, they have healthier versions by just using egg whites.

Tuna Puttanesca (P195)
A healthy mix of tuna, olives, capers and a special blends of herbs and spices tossed with spaghetti noodles.

Choco Lava ala Mode (P150)
Gooey, chocolatey and delicious enough to share. Nuff Said.

The menu was overwhelming because of the amount of dishes they offered. Coupled with the good service we experienced and the drool-worthy menu, a trip to The Clubhouse is in my future. I am biased, I loved having the restaurant to myself but I know it gets full on weekends. Perhaps I just need another weekday visit to enjoy its sweet warm hug. As mentioned above, The Clubhouse was conceptualized as a hang out place and it delivers.

Erika and I finished our date with severely full and happy tummies. The date was the ideal mix of great conversation, quality friend time and good food as always. Yay!

There are 2 ways to get to the restaurant. From outside the mall (side of Payless) or inside, take the corridor right after Krispy Kreme and Springfield.
