Unexpected Photo Walk at a Makati Walkway – July 2013

* Pardon the photo quality; these were all taken with my phone.

On a Tuesday morning, I found myself in Makati for an important appointment. I’m not a Makati girl or a morning person so putting the two together isn’t my kind of party. I do however know some of the walkways which made the trip to Makati worth it, I like walking remember?

My interview shoes and my commuting shoes.

One of the things I appreciate about Makati is its covered walkways. It makes walking around the city bearable. I had the biggest surprise when I passed the walkway between Greenbelt and the Enterprise because the ceiling was covered with art.

When I saw the first one, I got giddy. Looking like an idiot, I slowed down and was staring at the ceiling while people continued to walk. The more steps I took, the more excited I got because I could see more art.

Each ceiling section had its own artwork. The sections had different themes and it seemed like they were made by several artists. Some of the paintings were okay while some captured my heart. The works may not be of “National Artist” level but for commuters, it’s such a breath of fresh air to see. Here are some of my favorites.

Rihanna is that you?

This one is something Danix will love as much as me.

It’s shooting me, shooting it.

This one says it all! Haha

Because of the previous photo, it might drive a few people cray cray.

If you find yourself trolling the walkway, keep a slow pace and appreciate the pleasant surprise. Just make sure not to do it during rush hour! Crank your neck and check out some art, thanks Makati!
