A Piece of Bacolod in Manila: Kuppa Roastery & Café

Thursday, September 06, 2012

When I visited Bacolod last year, Kuppa was part of our must try list. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to fully experience it, the nearest Kuppa experience I had was a drink and sandwich at the airport on route to Manila. I got news that they opened a branch in Manila so I mentally took note of it.

My college barkada were planning a despedida lunch for our US bound friend Pabsy and Kuppa was the perfect fit. For one, it was located in the Fort which was sorta the middle point for everyone and second Pabsy is a huuuuuuge coffee lover. Kuppa has a reputation for serving fantastic brews.

On a weekday afternoon, we found ourselves in Kuppa which had the perfect atmosphere to spend hours to unwind and catch up with friends. The huge floor to ceiling panels allowed natural sunlight to beautifully pour in.

Frutti di Mare (P240)
Seafood pasta with a choice of tomato, cream or oil base.

Pan Seared Fish Fillet (P340)
Pan seared fish fillet with potatoes in a creamy mushroom sauce.

Quattro Formaggi (P365)
Four cheese pizza – fontina, blue, mozzarella & parmasean.

Cristina (P360)
Kuppa’s signature pizza. Mozzarella, balsamic, gorgonzola, figs and grapes.

I had a feeling the food was gonna be delicious but to be honest I was more excited about their drinks! Kuppa has an assortment of teas and coffee that fanatics will gravitate towards. We liked all the drinks that made their way to our table.

The dessert display called me but I was too full from lunch I didn’t have dessert. Does that sound like chocolate and dessert loving me??? Yes, it is sad but true.

More than my bias for Kuppa being Ilonggo, I look forward to visiting it in the future to devour more dishes in their menu, sample more drinks and finally take a bite into their drool-worthy desserts.
