The Manila Baker opens its first restaurant with TMBRew + Bistro in Pasig
Monday, July 01, 2024I discovered The Manila Baker during the pandemic when we were looking for cakes for our celebrations at home and we were happy with them. When I found out they opened a bistro, it was an easy yes to try them out.
TMBRew + Bistro’s high ceilings allow for generous sunlight. Its interiors are a mesh of casual elegance that is inviting.
Cucumber & red onion slaw, herb yogurt sauce, side of fries
All the components were delicious individually which makes this a 10/10. I loved the bread, the hollandaise sauce had great creaminess and acidity as well. Heck even the dressing of the side salad was amazing.
Tomato salsa, yogurt sauce, buttered herb rice
This may sound weird but after getting a spoonful all I could think about was “I want to learn how to make this at home”. It’s that good that I wanna keep having it.
I am normally a 12-ounce iced coffee drinker with 2 shots of espresso. I ordered the extra shot to meet my standards. Their version was too tame for my palette and at P240, pricey. I would recommend skipping coffee but MAKE ROOM FOR DESSERT. Yes, it’s an all-caps moment.
The Honeybee Pie new to my palette. The crust and filling texture is spot-on and the sweetness is perfectly balanced. No umay factor with this one.
They are a sweets shop first and of course their cakes are awesome. The Chocolate Mascarpone Cloud Cake is one of their signature cakes and it had the right balance of sweetness. It’s like a lighter version of fudge-like richness.
Savor quality ingredients with dishes that you order at TMBRew + Bistro. It is a cake shop first, and bistro second --- delivering in both categories. I’ve only tried a handful from their menu and already targeting to do another round. Treat yourself and drop by, you deserve this.
