Birthday well spent at Casa Angelina in Cabangan, Zambales

Ever want to go on a quick vacation and do nothing? That’s exactly what I sought out for my birthday last year and was thrilled to get just that. It was such a HAPPY birthday indeed!

When Zamables is mentioned, it’s more popular towns of Liwaliwa, Pundaquit and Iba are mentioned. I had not heard much about Cabangan which was where Casa Angelina is located. I came across the resort when I was hit with their sponsored ad on Facebook

This is the owner’s second lot along the beach. Their house is on the first one. Since their friends and family enjoyed their visit to Cabangan immensely, they decided to use their second lot as a resort.

Casa Angelina only has 4 rooms that can accommodate 2 - 6 guests each. Garden rooms are P3000 while Ocean View rooms are P3500 for 2 guests. Add P500 per additional guest. The team designed the rooms to be PWD friendly. They are delightfully decorated and very instagrammable. The photos I saw online looked exactly like that in person. There is no TV in the room or WIFI in the resort.

The bathroom is surprisingly spacious and can accommodate a wheelchair inside.

We were the only guests during our visit which made us feel like the whole place was ours.

The facilities are pretty sparse. There are lounge areas and an outdoor kitchen guests may use. Casa Angelina does not have a restaurant but there are restaurants in the area where you can order and have their staff pick it up for you for a fee.

Breakfast is available at their other property Casa Santa Luzviminda though it has to be requested a day before. Their menu uses ingredients that are sourced locally - Zambales mangoes and longganisa, Pampanga tocino, Sagada coffee, and so much more. Everything we ordered was freaking amazing.

Their caretaker is at the resort only until 7 PM. The gates are locked after but the front, since it is a beach front property is open. This might be a deal breaker for some people but the resort had a vibe to it that made it okay for us.

To give you an idea of the area, most of the resort’s neighbors are houses. We only spotted 3 other resorts while walking the shore line. We visited on a weekday and the beach was empty. We had all of this for ourselves!

The sand is light gray but looks polvoron like when hit by the sun.

At sunset though the sand looks black. Don’t you just love the patterns that nature make?

It was a cloudy afternoon but we were treated to lovely hues during sunset. Yup, that’s the view from the 2 beach front rooms. Also, was on baby watching duties. Haha

The resort gets fully booked on weekends FAST. The only reason we were able to get a room was because we went on a weekday. Travel time is normally 4-5 hours but it took us longer because of road construction work in Olongapo. I highly recommend staying for 3 days instead of just overnight to maximize the beach and your relaxation.

It is also ideal for groups and families so you can book all 4 rooms. You can easily master the art of doing nothing with a great view at Casa Angelina. It is the perfect escape when you want to unplug and reboot because of its homey and quiet charm.
