Finger Food at Lola Maria’s
Friday, May 20, 2011One of my barkadas, the Kindat crew, hardly hang out in the Pioneer area. When the opportunity came up, I suggested having lunch at Lola Maria’s at the Legend Villas. The group lunch turned into a date with Danix when the rest of the crew couldn’t make it.
Danix was full so I was in charge of ordering the dishes. Intrigued by their updated menu, I picked the Fish Pinipig and Vegetable Quiche.
Vegetable Quiche (P155)
Baked tender pastry crust with fresh vegetables topped with a dollop of sour cream for breakfast or snack.
A favorite of fashion designer Randy Ortiz, the quiche was average. The cool sour cream complimented the warm quiche. I would have wanted the crust of the quiche to be crispier though.
Fish Pinipig (P210)
Cream dory fillet covered with crispy pinipig flakes dipped with choice of tartare sauce or cayenne mayo
The crunchy pinipig texture was an interesting mix to the spicy taste of the fish. You could feel the heat of the fish on your lips. The chips were seasoned well but oily. This is actually a perfect dish to accompany alcohol. Haha
It was a good thing the restaurant had free wifi because it took 30 minutes for our order to arrive. The restaurant only had 2 tables yet their service was a tad slow.
After lunch, we had a quick game of sungka before proceeding to Chatime!!! We had our own mini photo walk in Pioneer that day. Haha
