I got interested in Brutalist Architecture when I chanced upon the Brutalist Pilipinas Page last year. It took some time but my friends and I were finally able to drop by the Atrium along Makati Avenue. Honestly did not know something like this existed so was pretty surprised it was under our noses all along.

Steps + doggos? I’m there!
Ampon Alaga is the rescue and adoption project of PETA Asia. My friend Tin saw a feature about the organization because they were looking for volunteers to help walk the dogs. Walks are done everyday so they really do need a lot of help.

If you’ve been reading the blog for quite some time (hugs your way) you may know that it has been my tradition to go away for my birthday. Sadly I was unable to properly plan anything for this year so as a compromise; I decided to have a me-day in Manila instead.
This is not a packed a itinerary. It’s one of those chill-er ones. You know when you go off to an adventure and you say “I need a vacation from my vacation”? This is the vacation you need after.

* This class is no longer available.
Piloxing is fairly new in the country. So, what is it exactly? “Uniquely blending two of the industry's most powerful and timeless disciplines of Pilates and Boxing, PILOXING SSP adds a third element of dance into this high-energy interval workout. This dynamic program moves through heart-pumping, powerful boxing combinations to sculpting and lengthening Pilates-influenced movement to 'let yourself GO' dance releases, and back around again. Never have you enjoyed sweating so much.” (Source)

Do you know the Filipino saying “Pag gusto, maraming paraan. Pag ayaw, maraming dahilan.”? That saying can be applied in a lot of things in life – including exercise. You can use every excuse in the book but when it boils down to it, when you’re not ready you won’t do it. One of the common excuses for not exercising is money. Let us eradicate that problem with these solutions that won’t cost anything.

You see that woman jumping out of the plane? That's partially-afraid-of-heights me so that's why this is a big deal. I've taken on my fear of heights again.

I think I missed Manila when I was in New Zealand for less than 3 weeks. I’ve done numerous new active things since coming back which has been fantastic. I’ve bounced on a trampoline, gone spinning, and now wall climbing!

We all have days, weeks, and even phases of struggle. Have you been feeling awful lately? I’ve been dealing with some issues the past few months and for an hour on a Tuesday night; they all went away thanks to a bunch of trampolines.

I’ve been doing my photo walks for 3 years already. It is something that pushed me to try something new every time and I am grateful for that. The tricky part, once I tick something off my list the next challenge is to find a new place to check out. Let’s face it, I have parameters! Haha A photo walk must be photo worthy and accessible. If it takes too much effort, I may not do it. Haha
In honor of going into my 4th year of photo walking, here’s my opportunity to share with you. If you’re like my cousin Paola who recently was introduced to my world of photo walks and crave for more, then this list will come in handy.

* A long post ahead!
Oh yes, you read the title right. My photo walk for June with Danix ended in a stupid and funny story. We were still exploring the Mind Museum and taking photos in our favorite section when BOOM. Aircon out, lights out and you could actually hear the breaker (or something similar to it) shutting down with no one in sight. Whut???
My brain was in shock and denial with what was happening. When it finally sunk in, Danix and I walked away from the museum feeling like idiots and laughing at our misfortune.

We are back in Manila for another photo walk! This time, our photo walk is courtesy of a deal from Groupon for a 1 hour White Knight Electric Chariot Tour. Electric whuut? It’s an Intramuros tour on a segway.
Our coupon was for 4 people and I rounded up Danix, Tre and Paola for this tour. We paid P400 each instead of P1000, score!
