Who doesn't love Mr. Pure Energy Gary V?!?!? I may not be his biggest fan or well versed in his discography but I admire and his respect him as an artist and more importantly, as a person. The night the concert, Paola invited me to join her and Hanna for the concert the next day. I had financial concerns but something great happened that day work wise and I grabbed the opportunity,

I haven’t been posting about concerts happening in the country on the blog the past few months. Are you surprised I’m talking about one now? This is my November Photo Walk for 2013.
As I mentioned previously, there are 3 bands that have made me cry: Urbandub, The Script and One Republic. Since Urbandub is a Filipino band, I’ve been fortunate enough to watch them on several occasions - you must catch them live. The Script visited Manila twice already and I honestly regret not watching them. On their first visit, I chose Cirque du Soleil over them. On their second visit, I waited for my friends to buy tickets. They eventually ended up bailing on me and when I was all set to watch alone – it was sold out. It is because of my painful (oo drama) experience with The Script that I vowed to watch One Republic live.

In 2011, Irish band The Script made their first trip to Manila and I gushed about it HERE. In the same year, Cirque du Soleil made also landed on our shores for the first time. I could only afford to watch 1 show and with a heavy heart, I chose Cirque’s Varekai. It was one of those decisions that haunted me and I made a conscious effort not to read any articles, see any photos or talk to friends who watched The Script concert.
So, can you imagine my exhilaration when I found out the band was coming back to Manila??? This is my second chance to fulfill another of watching a dream artist! With so much love in my heart for the Irish boys, there is no FREAKING way I’m missing this concert!!!

I’ve never been a house music person but I appreciate beats that make me dance. There’s only one DJ I vowed to watch in person – David Guetta. Nix introduced me to his music during my Singapore visit. This year, he made his way to Manila for the first time and when I heard the news I went ballistic. I had the chance to catch another dream artist on my list to watch!
When watching concerts, it’s best to be with people who are as fanatical as you since you would feed off each other’s energies. Nix was heading to Manila for a wedding the same time Guetta was in town. We made arrangements to watch together but plans eventually fell through. I had to let go of the sadness of missing his show so I purposely avoided his TV specials and interviews.

When I’m busy working, music plays a vital role in my process, it helps me focus. With the right music, I get the energy necessary to get the task done. These days when my work entails writing, editing scripts or designing, I have several playlists on standby.

With the influx of acts, our wallets are getting thinner by the day! It is insane how many visitors we’re having during the last quarter of this year.

When I first heard about the NKOTBSB tour in the US, I immediately thought it was ingenious. Staging a concert with 2 huge boy bands from 2 different generations ought to draw the crowd. I have a confession; I used to be a BSB fan. They weren’t my biggest fan girl moment but I liked them. They were taking the tour to the Philippines and we were their last stop (just like Katy Perry). It didn’t spark a ‘OMG-I-need-to-watch” moment in me and my looked at the ticket prices: Mahalia Jackson (expensive)! I didn’t even announce the concert date here in my blog. As my friend Maita said about the ticket prices, “ayaw magpanood sa presyo!” (The tickets are priced as if they didn’t want people to watch.)
Fast forward to 4 days before the concert and I see the tickets are half off at a groupon site. So….Maita and I ended up buying Upper Box tickets. Haha

I honestly thought that The Fray was a European band. Haha So when I found out they were coming to Manila, I was excited! Then I realized, wait I don't love them as much the Script or John Mayer, I just like them.
I checked my iTunes and it only contained their first album! What kind of liker has just one album? I like all the songs from the "How To Save" album and even though I don’t know all the titles, play any song and I'll be familiar with it.

I like her. I may not love her but I do, I do like her! I've never seen her in concert but based on her songs and music videos I'm predicting this will be one heck of a show!

And Manila can't get enough of the Black Eyed Peas! I like the party inducing groove of their music and can create a dance playlist entirely dedicated to them. I'm also biased, I love the Filipino songs that Apl.de.Ap created for their albums. Ahihihi- Friday, September 09, 2011

You’ve heard her music on Grey’s Anatomy, 90210, Ugly Betty and various commercials all over the world. Her distinct voice and melodies have captured your heart and you’re enamored.
I don’t remember how I was exposed to Lenka but she has since been integrated in my music playlist. I like her music but am not yet at a fan girl love level like Justin Timberlake or John Mayer. In any case, I am glad to pimp that she is coming to Manila this October!

While writing the Cuisinier Brasserie post, I was listening to Adele's 21. My golly! Talk about emotions.
Let me explain first. My interest in the album was piqued when I heard "Someone Like You". The lyrics and melody drew me in so I got a copy of the whole album.- Saturday, June 25, 2011

My friend Olive and I have love for Euro/Brit music. She was the one who introduced me to the fabulous Live Lounge series. Another Briton that's been making me happy and making me groove is Diana Vickers!- Sunday, March 20, 2011

I made the photo book for the Europe trip of my friend Tin with her Mom. I learned Lightroom last year and pretty much LURVED it. I edited these 2 photos that didn't make the book but received an "HO MAY GAWD HANG GANDAAAA" (Oh My God, It's beautiful) moment so I'm sharing my geeky giddiness here. =p
