Papa Kape is a Café I’d Gladly Return to in Rizal Park

Tuesday, February 03, 2026

Papa Kape is the kind of café you want to tell people about. Filipino-forward, rooted in local flavors, and built around drinks that feel familiar in the best way.

I’ve been to both Fort Santiago and Rizal Park, and while the vibe stays cozy across locations, the branch-exclusive picks make each visit feel different. Papa Kape has drinks with personality. The kind that makes you pause after the first sip because you can actually taste the idea behind them.

At the Rizal Park branch, the Polvoron Latte hits that sweet spot between comfort and curiosity. Creamy, nostalgic, and quietly indulgent, it feels like a Filipino childhood snack reimagined as a coffee order. What ties everything together is the quality of the beans. These are seriously creative drinks, but the coffee itself still leads.

Both branches are cozy and easy to linger in. A big part of the charm comes from the resident cats. Papa Kape has adopted stray cats at both locations, and they have fully become part of the experience.

Tiago holds down the Fort Santiago branch, while Josie, Luna, and my favorite, Scar, live at the Rizal Park spot. If I lived nearby, weekly visits would be non-negotiable for the coffee and Scar alone.

Papa Kape is a bit hidden inside Rizal Park, so it may take a little extra effort to find. But once you do, it feels like a reward. If it’s your first visit, the link here has directions to help you find it.
