Be The Reason Roastery + Café is the newest slow bar coffee shop in Ortigas

Black coffee has never been my go-to, but places like Be The Reason Roastery + Café are making me re-evaluate my coffee choices. Who else is up for a flavor adventure?

It’s a slow bar coffee shop and roastery tucked inside Tektite. The interiors will draw you straight to the green coffee bar. Green you ask?!? Be The Reason sells coffee beans from around the globe that you can have roasted to your liking and take home with you. Select beans can be enjoyed at their slow bar via the syphon or the pour over.

Props to the staff at Be The Reason Roastery for their coffee know-how and friendly vibes. They answered all my coffee questions and suggested the perfect brew for me.

On my first visit I tried their Dutch Coffee (P135) which is a cold brew. I usually shy away from cold brews, but this one is seriously “magigisng-ka-level” and best enjoyed black. Don’t let milk and sweetener water it down.

Next visit, I switched it up with Blue Mountain beans brewed via syphon (P150). Syphon brewing brings a fuller body compared to pour over, plus the chocolate notes were right up my alley.

Their Orange Macaron (P90) does not look like the macron that I know. It’s light, fluffy, and packed with a genuine orange flavor—no artificial taste here. It paired well with the Blue Mountain beans. 

They definitely give you a reason to come back for more. Already looking forward to trying their espresso drinks and exploring more of their coffee beans.
