15 favorite finds at the Dapitan Arcade when it’s not Christmas

Monday, August 29, 2016

If you know me personally or have been a follower of the blog - you know I like a good bargain. My family and I like the hunt as much as the purchase. Any true shopper knows of and visited Dapitan Arcade already.

I finally visited the QC spot which showcases a whole lotta stuff for your house. Dapitan Arcade is also known for affordable Christmas decorations but since I visited in July, Santa and friends weren't out yet.

Here are some of my favorites:

Location: Stall 57

Silver camera
I want the silver camera but in a matte finish. Want, not need. You could use it as a book end, a desk accessory, and so much more! It would look way awesome if it were in other colors as well.

Location: Stall 67 (Crafty Chic)

Get rustic and crafty
You will want a LOT of items from here if you're a big DIY-er. I personally love the arcade sign even if I don't have a use for it.

Location: Stall 40

Plato platohan galore
Stock up on all kinds and shapes of serving platters, plates and bowls in white.

Clear jars and bottles
They have bottles that remind me of the perfume bottles my Lola (grandmother) used to have on her gorgeous and massive dresser. Do I need them? Nope. Are they pretty as a flower? Oh yeah.

Location: Stall 49

Pop culture collectibles
There are throngs of Beatles and Audrey Hepburn fans out there who would adore those car plates. The stall also sells motto plates.

Model cars and planes
I know a lot of kids and adults whose faces would light up when they get these.

Location: Stall 44/45 (0917-5615834, 0922-8918002)

Tea heaven!
It is overwhelming how many different kinds of tea cups, saucers, and pots are available in this stall. You can buy them individually or in sets. It is a hoarder/stylist's dream store. It made me want to buy 1 piece per design. Luckily I was able to stop my inner hoarder.

Location: Just outside the market along Kanlaon Street

Gorgeous baskets

Who wants a turtle basket?

Rustic Christmas trees and accessories

Bowls and bowls and bowls

Location: JJL stall along Kanlaon Street (0932-7241616)

Nautical items
Model airplanes
It’s pretty cool that they also have model planes of Filipino airlines.
Vintage accessories
They actually work! They're not just there for display. Mixing vintage and modern pieces would look pretty amazing.

Location: Along Kanlaon Street, walk towards Save More. You'll see this tiny ceramic store on the right right after Dapitan Arcade (0919-5339142, 0909-3487704)

Ceramic wonderland
Legitimately I was attracted to this stall because of the unicorns. I love that they come in different colors for P250 each. You can probably get it lower, I know for a fact they were charging me "banyaga prices" even though I was speaking Tagalog.

The cake stands, mugs, cookie jars and so much more will make you want to take home AT LEAST one item. This was my favorite stall during the trip.

My heart was saying I needed that pineapple but no my brain veto-ed it.

I am proud to say I silenced my inner shopper and didn't buy anything. It was extremely challenging to practice restraint. Mark my words, when I have a place of my own I am sssssooo coming back with a vengeance.

P.S. We wanted to have lunch in an "only-in-the-area" restaurant and thought of nearby Banawe. I asked my foodie friend Camille and went to Hugki Dumplings for authentic Taiwanese food. We ordered everything Cams recommended and LOVED them all. The catch? We couldnt take photos of the food. So here's a photo of my field trip mates with the food instead. Do try their Pork Chop, Kutchay Steamed Dumplings, and Beef Noodles. Price ranges from P175-300 per head.
