Dance + Passion = Inspiring Visuals

Monday, July 22, 2013

For the past few months, I’ve wanted to take my blog to another level. Besides the lifestyle articles you see here, I am also passionate about passion. I try to live with an ounce of it every day and I enjoy talks about it. I love helping people close to me try to sift through their brains and hearts to figure out what their passion is.  I’ve wanted to insert more articles about finding passion and I think this is a good start.

Last week, in the same hour, I saw a link about a girl’s story to learn how to dance and a link featuring photos of dancers. These two links enters my vault for inspiration.

Karen Cheung wanted to learn how to dance. Determined to excel, she took on the challenge to learn and practiced every day for a year. More than just dancing, her story is about commitment and passion.

“This isn't a story about dancing, though. It's about having a dream and not knowing how to get there — but starting anyway. Maybe you're a musician dreaming of writing an original song. You're an entrepreneur dying to start your first venture. You're an athlete but you just haven't left the chair yet.”

On her website, Karen gives you simple suggestions of how you can do it as well. Nothing mind blowing but practical, every day tips for average people.

It’s wonderful to see people achieve their goal no matter how small or huge it is when it’s driven by passion. Simple but amazing video, I like the choice of music and even the editing. Watch her amazing journey above.

I am not a dancer but I like to move. I appreciate their artistry, passion and training. Jordan Matter brings you “Dancers Among Us" - a collection of photographs of dancers exhibiting grace and athleticism around America.

Besides the pose and movement, I loved the composition and lighting of the photographer.

Jordan Matter took 3 years to complete the book. He dedicates it to his children to “Relish moments large and small, recognize the beauty around you, and be alive!”

Another line I love from the website: “BE passionate joyful euphoric intense angry present ALIVE”

Aren’t those beautiful thoughts to live by? Let’s spread positivity. Today, I hope these links remind you to keep your passion burning in your souls and to keep dreaming. I am this close to including the book in my Christmas Wish List for this year!

On a personal note, I’m going on another journey work wise and I’m excited about it. It’s something that I’ve been passionate about and has ignited a spark in me and I’m honestly hoping for the best. You’ll hear about my newest baby soon.
