Mo’ Sugar, Mo’ Problems

Sugar, sweets and chocolates are my greatest downfall. I can last a week without junk food but to eliminate sweets from my system? OMG..I cannot…Lord knows...

With some of my friends, we hit Momo Café in Eastwood. Momo Café’s siblings include Chelsea Market (Opening soon in Podium!) and M Café which guarantees the divineness of the food in this place. One great thing about eating with a big group is you can sample a lot in one seating.

Presenting, the choices of our barkada (notice, we HATE chocolate):

A must for mint lovers! It marries chocolate and mint perfectly. This cupcake is a bit messy to eat because of its gooey texture. It’s like eating raw cookie/cupcake dough when you sneak in your mom’s kitchen.

It was good to have a nibble at this in the sea of chocolate. It was light and true to its name.

I’m not the biggest fan of cheesecake but my friends are, 2 of them ordered this slice. The cheesecake wasn’t overpowering which I appreciated. It had a good balance of the sourness of the cheesecake and the sweetness of the cookie. It’s not on the top of my list but cheesecake fanatics might appreciate this more.

This cake was good but not phenomenal. In Simon Cowell’s words (and accent) “It was forgettable.” It wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be. For people who prefer their chocolate on the light side, this one is for you.

This slice of heaven is meant to be shared since its richness would consume you. It tastes exactly like my absolute favorite chocolate bar. This is not for those wanting a light dessert or the faint hearted. Hard core chocoholics will dream about this one.

Expect to shell out P95 – P300 for a cupcake or slice. It’s pretty steep but value for money. Would I go back? Yes, I have yet to munch on their food. Would I go back for their dessert? Yes but only for special occasions. I can’t imagine spending that much just for sugar.
